We are excited to announce that the first edition of the TaxiDrivers festival, Italy Short Film Days – Berlin, will take place in Berlin from June 4 to 7, 2026, at three independent cinemas in the German capital: Lichtblick Kino , IL KINO and ACUD Kino.
The festival was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of TaxiDrivers , the film criticism magazine, and will take shape as a true marathon of screenings dedicated to selected Italian short films. All films in the program will be made in Italy, with the aim of promoting short cinema and strengthening networking opportunities for Italian filmmakers within an international and dynamic context such as Berlin.
**Italy Short Film Days ** aims to be a meeting point between independent filmmakers and audiences — a concrete opportunity to bring Italian short films beyond national borders and place them in dialogue with a city that has always been attentive to experimentation and cinematic research.
The festival will feature several competitions , with awards presented to the winning films, and two juries: one composed of the TaxiDrivers editorial team, which will award Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Actress and a local jury made up of film professionals active in Germany, who will present awards for Best Director.
Before and after the screenings, vernissages with aperitifs and informal networking moments will create an authentic space for exchange between filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences. All fans of short films and Italian cinema are invited to attend. In the coming weeks, we will share all the information regarding registration and ticket reservations, the program, sponsors, and media partners.
**Italy Short Film Days ** is designed for independent filmmakers and for a curious, attentive audience passionate about short cinema.
